Something a little different this time, in the form of a rolling road day, hosted by MX5Nutz. First, i’d like to thank Autotronix for letting this happen, and Matt (Yetidragon) for organising the event. But, i’d also like to thank everyone who turned up for making it such a great event.
The day was run according to engine size, and aspiration, and, unfortunately, by the time I turned up, the N/A 1.6s had run already, but the day was far from over.
There was a variety of cars arrive, from mk1s, through to the latest, mk3s, relatively standard cars, through to fully specced race cars that compete in the Max5 race series.
Seemingly, the weather was on our side, admitedly, not quite t-shirt weather, but not far off, which is quite impressive for mid-October! On the flipside, the cool, dense air, obviously helping us all on the power figures.
And, on that note, the highest rated figures from each category are, as follows:
N/A 1.6: Mattsteady – 139.6BHP/118lb/ft – A Pitcrew (a rather classy front end bodykit) with twin carbs, and some internal engine mods.
N/A 1.8: PJB – 149.8BHP/126lb/ft – A Mk2 ‘Sport’, which used to be supercharged, and as such, I believe, still has the supporting mods.
F/I 1.6: Eafy – 200.7BHP/183lb/ft – Another Mk2, supercharged, and one of only 2 cars to be run in it’s category.
F/I 1.8: PGD – 266.8BHP/246lb/ft – A rather clean, turbo Mk1, fitted with forged internals.
I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who came, and made it such an enjoyable day, everyone was as friendly and hospitable as ever, and it really makes for a great community, as demonstrated here, by Matt (Yeti) and Rodders holding down PGD’s class winning (and most powerful of the day) car…
Once again, thanks to Clive @ Autotronix for hosting the day, Matt (Yeti) for organising it, and for everyone who turned up for being such great spirit, to make it such a great day!
